Accordingly, the theme of this CIDP is to be a vibrant and prosperous County. The CIDP gives priority to infrastructural expansion, food security, socio economic transformation and good governance. In addition, it aims to build on the successes of the first CIDP (2013-2017), particularly in increasing the scale and pace of economic transformation. Simultaneously, the Plan aims to meet the Sustainable Development Goals for the residents of Migori County by paying attention to securing our environment, building resilience to climate change and mainstreaming gender, youth, disability and HIV in all projects and programmes. The development agenda also identifies a number of flagship projects in every sector to be implemented over the plan period and to facilitate desired growth rate towards achieving the main objective of the Kenya Vision 2030.Much of this will be done in collaboration with the National Government and other development partners as provided for under the Kenyan laws. The overall aim of the plan is that by 2022 the residents of Migori will have experienced positive transformation in the quality of their livelihoods. It has been prepared by the department of Economic Planning. The report reviews the progress made during the implementation of the County Integrated Development Plan on the basis of key performance indicators and targets set. It assesses the implementation of the CIDP in terms of the four pillars which form the basis of the CIDP. These are Socioeconomic growth, Infrastructural Development, Affirmative Action and Environmental Management. The relevant policies are underscored as well as achievements made, challenges encountered and significant lessons learnt prior to charting the way forward. The document provides an overall assessment of the effectiveness, sustainability, relevance and impact of the CIDP on the overall goal of poverty reduction, wealth and employment creation.
