<title>Meru County Integrated Development Plan 2013-2017</title>
<link>https://repository.kippra.or.ke/handle/123456789/528</link>
<description>Meru County Integrated Development Plan 2013-2017
Meru County planners prepared this 5-year Integrated County Development Plan and the annual projections of budgets to implement them.&#13;
Integrated development planning is defined as “a process through which efforts at national and&#13;
devolved levels of government and other relevant public institutions are coordinated at local level, and through which economic, social, environmental, legal and spatial aspects of development&#13;
are brought together to produce a plan that meets the need and targets set for the benefit of local&#13;
communities”. The CIDP will have the goal of promoting harmony with national and other county plans, land-use plans, urban planning and environmental conservation. This CIDP, 2013 -2017&#13;
aligns both the fundamental changes in the dynamic operating environment and the thinking of&#13;
the Government at Macro-level. This plan is further informed by The County Government Act,&#13;
2012, section 104 (1), which states that, “a county Government shall plan for the county and no&#13;
public funds shall be appropriated without a planning framework developed by the county executive committee and approved by the county assembly”. It also states that the county planning&#13;
framework shall integrate economic, physical, social, environmental and spatial planning.
