Sessional Paper No 03 of 2004 on National Housing Policy for Kenya

Abstract

The policy proposes the enactment of a comprehensive Housing Act to provide the Government with an appropriate legal framework for the coordination, guidance, regulation, monitoring and evaluation of the sector. Appropriate measures have already been initiated to formulate the said national housing law, which will also serve as an instrument for the operationalization of the policy. In developing this policy, the Ministry benefited in many useful ways from the contributions of experts in various Ministries and institutions in the housing sector. I wish to thank all those individuals and organizations for their valuable contributions towards the realization of this Sessional Paper on the National Housing Policy for Kenya. Our collective and individual efforts in implementing the policy will immensely transform. the housing sector and ensure that it fully plays its role in the socio-economic development of our country.
