National Development Plan for the Period 1970-1974

Abstract

This Plan-Kenya's second covers the projected growth of the economy over the five calendar years 1970-74 and, more specifically, the investment programme of the Government in the five financial years 1969 /70 to 1973/74. The key strategy of this plan is to direct an increasing share of the total resources available to the nation towards rural areas. The Government believes that it is only through an accelerated development of the rural areas that balanced economic opportunities can be generated and that people as a whole can participate in the development process.
