Abstract
In October, 1952, Legislative Council resolved that a committee be set up with the following terms of reference: To investigate and take evidence from all sections of the community on the cost of the means of production of locally produced foodstuffs, locally manufactured and imported clothing, household necessities, building materials and transport vehicles and spares in so far as they are within the control of the Government of the Colony, and to make recommendations to Government for reducing the end price to consumers, having special regard to the efficiency of production and distribution of these commodities...
