    Abstract/Overview

    The Secretary of State for the Colonies has asked that the attached Despatch should be laid before the Legislative Council for their consideration. It will be observed that it is proposed to increase the salary of the Governor from £5 ,000- per annum to £6,000 per annum and the duty allowance from £3,500 per annum to £4,500 per annum. It is also proposed to increase the salary of the Deputy Governor from £3,500 per annum to £3,800 per annum. The Deputy Governor's duty allowance will, however, remain at its present level of £1,500 per annum…
