dc.description.abstractThe Report of the Commission of Inquiry, Public Service Structure and Remuneration Commission, appointed under Cap. 102 of the Laws of Kenya, under the chairmanship of Mr. D. N. Ndegwa, was presented to His Excellency the President on the 4th May, 1971, and published on the same day. On the 6th May 1971, his Excellency the President declared that the various recommendations made by the Commission required careful and detailed study by the Government so as to determine how best they could -be implemented. With regard to salaries and other remunerative allowances recommended by the Commission £or the Civil Service and the teaching profession, His Excellency declared that the Government had decided that these were acceptable and would be implemented with effect from 1st July 1971. He also directed, as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, that proportionate adjustments in the salaries of the Armed Forces should be affected as from that date...en_US
