dc.description.abstractThe Mandera East District Development Plan 2008-12 is prepared in line with the Kenya's Vision 2030 which is the Country's long-term development blueprint. The Vision 2030 is to be implemented through Medium Term Plans at the national and district levels. These DDP also takes cognizance of the country's international commitments such as the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) hence ensuring that the district planning process is in harmony with the global development agenda. The DDP therefore is the medium-term Plan containing project and programme proposals that the district will implement in the 5 years in order to achieve the MDGs and the Vision. This Plan was prepared in a consultative and participatory manner and all the_ stakeholders at the district level were represented.
