Abstract/ Overview
Mashujaa is a Swahili word for Heroes. Mashujaa day is a national holiday in Kenya, celebrated on the 20th day of the month of October, to honour the selfless compatriots’ sacrifices, towards the struggle for independence. Mashujaa day was formerly known as Kenyatta Day, which was celebrated in honor of the founding father of Kenya. After the promulgation of the 2010 constitution of Kenya, Kenyatta day was renamed to Mashujaa day.
