Abstract/ Overview
The Government of Kenya has been engaged for some time on the study of the organization which will be necessary if it is to meet efficiently and expeditiously the complexity of post-war conditions and the pressing problems of development and reconstruction. The conclusion has been reached that two things are needed: (i) a reorganization of the machinery of Government, and (ii) a means of bringing to the difficult tasks of peace, the confidence and collaboration between Government and public which have made possible the remarkable achievements of the Colony in war. The future prosperity of Kenya will depend on the way in which the problems of post-war development and reconstruction are tackled. These problems are so large, so varied and so urgent, and the present machinery of Government is already so overloaded, that some additional special authority must be created to deal with them.
