Abstract

This is the first annual reporting on the realisation of national values and principles of governance in Kenya. The objective of this annual reporting, that is enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 is to identify and document the measures taken, progress achieved, challenges faced in the realisation of national values and principles of governance by the respective public institutions. Further, the report will provide direction, strategies and interventions that will enhance the promotion of the same. The national values and principles of governance are fundamental norms and beliefs of Kenyans that guide choices, actions, relations and behaviours of citizens. They are the foundation upon which the realisation of Kenya’s national interests is pegged. Specifically, this report analyses the policy, legal, institutional and administrative frameworks in relation to the realisation of national values and principles of governance in the public sector. Further, it highlights recommendations made by different public institutions to enhance the implementation processes in the realisation of national values and principles of governance.
