Abstract
The Government received the first copy of the Report of the Teachers Salaries Commission, on the 1st of August 1961, and at once set about the task of estimating the cost of implementing its various recommendations. These calculations involved mere than 20,000 teachers under a variety of terms of service and were completed at the end of September. As will be seen from the figures in Paragraph 3b of this white Paper nearly all the major recommendations of the Lawrence Report would involve large sums of money if they were to be implemented.
