dc.description.abstract | TThe department of Finance and Economic Planning discharges its mandate through five directorates namely; Accounting Services, Internal Audit,
Procurement, Revenue and Budget and Economic Planning. In the financial year 2017/2018, the total expenditure for the department was Ksh
616,893,971 against a budget of Ksh 806,812,913.This translates to an absorption rate of 76.5 percent. In the half year period up to 31st December 2018,
the department had spent Ksh.109, 631,379 against an approved budget of Ksh 109,631,379 which represents an absorption rate of 20.8 percent. During
the period under review, the department undertook the following activities:-
i. Collected own source revenue amounting Ksh 226 Million and embarked on the automation of revenue collection to enhance efficiency and
increase revenue
ii. Prepared and submitted the economic policy papers- the Annual Development Plan, County Budget Review and Outlook Paper, and the County
Fiscal Strategy Paper while also incorporating stakeholders views including the citizens in public participation
iii. Prepared the financial statement for the county and submitted quarterly financial reports to the County Assembly in accordance with the law

iv. Internal Audits for the County departments and programmes and projects for the FY 2017/18.
v. Procured and delivered supplies for the County departments. | en |
