dc.description.abstract | The 2021 County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP), sets out the County priority programs and reforms to be implemented over the next three years (2021/22 to 2023/24). The programs and policies herein reflect the concerns of the people living in Bungoma and are anchored on the CIDP II (2018-2022). These priority programs will build on the cumulative achievements realized under the MTEF period 2017/18 – 2019/20. This CFSP is prepared against a backdrop of the COVID-19 Pandemic. As a result, global economy is estimated to have contracted by 3.5 percent in 2020 from a growth of 2.8 percent in 2019. Global growth is projected to pick up to 5.5 percent in 2021 reflecting expectations of an increase of economic activities in the large economies. On the domestic scene, Kenya has not been spared of the negative impact of the Pandemic. The resultant containment measures have adversely affected businesses and economic activities causing significant contractions in the services and industry sub-sectors. As a result, the Kenyan economy contracted by 5.7 percent in the second quarter of 2020 from a growth of 4.9 percent in the first quarter of 2020. | en |
