Kisumu District Development Plan 1997-2001

Abstract

The Kisumu District Development Plan, which was created by the District Departmental Heads and coordinated by the District Commissioner, with assistance from the District Planning Unit. The plan was approved by the District Development Committee and edited and published by the Rural Planning Department of the Office of the Vice President and Ministry of Planning and National Development. The plan has three chapters, each of which addresses the theme of "Rapid Industrialization for Sustained Development." Chapter One provides background information on the district's resources and infrastructure, Chapter Two outlines strategies for achieving industrialization, and Chapter Three lists prioritized projects and programs. The plan was guided by Sessional Paper No. 1 of 1994 and other relevant policy documents.
