dc.description.abstractThe Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP IV) 2023-2027 implements the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which is geared towards economic turnaround and inclusive growth through a value chain approach. BETA targets sectors with high impact to drive economic recovery. The BETA objectives are: bringing down the cost of living, eradicating hunger, creating jobs, expanding the tax base, improving foreign exchange balances and inclusive growth. This will be achieved through targeted investments in five core pillars, namely: Agriculture; Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Economy; Housing and Settlement; Healthcare; Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy. BETA will be implemented through five MTP IV sectors, namely: Finance and Production; Infrastructure; Social; Environment and Natural Resources; and Governance and Public Administration.en
