dc.description.abstract | Gender is responsible for promoting gender equality and empowerment of women in Kenya. One of its key responsibilities is to promote the development and review of gender policies and legislation. The Department has developed this National Gender and Development Policy as a review of the Gender Policy adopted by the cabinet in 2000. The policy outlines the national agenda for gender equality and how Kenya intends to realise these ideals. It details the overarching principles, which will be adopted and integrated into the National and County Government sectoral policies, practices and programmes and by all state and non-state actors. | en_US |
