Tharaka Nithi County Integrated Development Plan 2013-2017

Abstract

The county governments are in charge devolved functions namely:- agriculture, health services, public amenities, trade development and regulation, county planning and development, transport , public works and disaster management among other services. The county prepared development profiles for each of devolved function through which the county integrated development plan was generated. The flagship projects under the vision 2030 and projects under the national government within the county are also included. The county integrated development plan CIDP (2013-2017) is guided by national government policies and more importantly the Kenya vision 2030 which aims to transform Kenya into a newly industrialized, middle-income country and providing high quality life to all it citizens by the year 2030. This plan will help the county fulfill Kenya vision 2030 goals. The vision 2030 is being implemented in successive five-year medium term plan (MTP), with the second plan covering 2013-2017. During each medium term plan the counties are expected to contribute towards realization of average gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 10% per annum.
