Embu County Integrated Development Plan 2013-2017

Abstract

The County Integrated Development Plan has been prepared in line with Vision 2030 and the County Government Act 2012. The aim of Kenya vision 2030 is to create a globally competitive and prosperous country with a high quality of life by the year 2030. The Vision is based on three pillars namely; the economic pillar, the social pillar and the political pillar. The Vision is anchored on a number of foundations such as, macroeconomic stability; continuity in governance reforms; enhanced equity and wealth creation opportunities for the poor; infrastructure; energy; science, technology and `innovation (STI); land reform; human resources development; security as well as public sector reforms. The Vision 2030 is being implemented in successive five year Medium Term plans with the first plan covering the period 2008- 2012.
