This Sector Plan for Labour and Employment has been formulated alongside the Second Medium Term Plan (MTP) 2013-2017, of the Kenya Vision 2030. The Sector Plan highlights in detail the policies, programmes and projects for implementation over the Second Medium Term Plan period whose main theme is ‘Transforming Kenya: Pathway to Devolution, Socio-Economic Development, Equity and National Unity’. It builds on the effort of the Sector Plan for Labour and Employment for the First Medium Term Plan 2008-2012. This Plan incorporates lessons learnt during the implementation of the First Medium Term Plan and priorities on implementation of the Constitution. The key focus areas for this Sector Plan are; employment promotion and optimal utilization of human resources, and social protection through targeted policies and activities as outlined therein.
