Embu County Fiscal Strategy Paper 2022

Abstract

This is the seventh Fiscal Strategy Paper since the operationalization of the County Governments Kenya. It has been prepared against a background of contracting global economic occasioned by the outbreak and the rapid spread of covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic and the ensuing containment measures have devastated countries economy disrupting businesses and livelihoods. The pandemic and resultant containment measures have adversely affected businesses and economic activities in all the sectors. The CFSP sets out county policy goals and strategic priorities that will be the basis for formulation of County’s Financial Year 2022/23 budget over the Medium Term. The Paper is prepared in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act, 2012. The focus of policies is to continue enabling environment for economic recovery to safeguard the livelihoods, jobs, businesses and industrial recovery. In this respect, the county government of Embu will strengthen implementation of programmes and measures that ensure a more inclusive growth and foster macroeconomic stability.
