Garissa District Development Plan 1994-1996

Abstract

The District Development Plan for Garissa District was formulated by the District Departmental Heads with the coordination of the District Commissioner and members of the District Planning Unit. The plan drafts were evaluated by the District Executive Committee and approved by the District Development Committee. The Rural Planning Department of the Office of the Vice President and Ministry of Planning and National Development provided guidance and edited and published the plan. The plan is composed of five chapters that cover the district's natural and human resources, social and economic levels, development constraints and strategies, HIV/AIDS situation, and major projects and programs prioritized by the DDC. The plan was drafted according to Sessional Paper No. 1 of 1986 and other applicable national and sectoral policy documents.
