National Development Plan for the Period 1979-1983 Part I

Abstract

This Plan outlines the objectives, policies and programmes for the nation’s development efforts in the next five years. Improvements of the wellbeing of the people remain our dominant aim. The Plan focuses sharper attention on measures to deal with the alleviation of poverty through emphasis on continued growth, raising household incomes by creating more—incomeearning opportunities, increasing the output and quality of services provided by Government, and improving income distribution throughout the nation.
