Kisumu City County Budget Review and Outlook Paper 2020

Abstract

The Kisumu County Budget Review and Outlook Paper (CBROP) was prepared in pursuant to Section 118 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2012.This review document focused on the fiscal year ending 30th June 2021 compared with the year-on-year growth for the similar period in previous years. The CBROP also reviews the fiscal outcome for FY 2020/2021 and its effects on the financial objectives set out in the 2021/2022 budget estimates submitted to the County Assembly on April 30,2021. Which also presents the recent economic developments and actual fiscal performance of the FY 2020/2021 and makes comparisons to the budget appropriations for the same year. In this Paper, we will also provide an overview of how the actual performance of the FY 2020/2021 affected the County’s compliance with the fiscal responsibility principles and the financial objectives as detailed in the 2021 CFSP.
