Abstract

The National Trade Policy of Kenya has been developed to address the changing landscape of governance and trade in the country, including devolution and the need to re-emphasize the role of trade in reducing poverty and promoting prosperity. The policy was developed in consultation with county governments, ensuring opportunities for equitable sharing and contribution by county economies in national trade. The policy aligns with Kenya's international agreements and emphasizes coordination and management structures for effective implementation. The measures outlined in the policy aim to promote exports, extend national treatment to imports, and lift the nation to prosperity. The success of the policy relies on its implementation and collaboration between various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
