Abstract
The Policy Brief on Could A Household’s Toilet Affect Child Growth by the National Irrigation Programme Focus for Nutrition (NIFPN) examines the association between household sanitation and child growth in Kenya. The publication presents evidence suggesting that poor household sanitation, specifically open defecation, is associated with increased risk of child stunting. The policy brief recommends that efforts to improve sanitation should be prioritized as part of a comprehensive strategy to reduce child stunting. The publication also highlights the need for targeted interventions to improve access to and use of sanitation facilities in households, especially in rural areas.
