Moi day was a national holiday in Kenya, celebrated on the 10th day of the month of October, to commemorate the inauguration of His Excellency Daniel T. Arap Moi, as the second President of the Republic of Kenya. President Moi was the longest-serving head of state, who lead Kenya for 24 years (1978-2002). Moi day was removed from the list of national holidays after the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. In 2017, a ruling by the court reinstated 10th of October as a public holiday in line with the Public Holidays Act. As from 2020, this day was renamed to Huduma Day to commemorate and promote service and volunteerism in Kenya.en
