dc.description.abstractThe Financial Year (FY) 2017/2018 Annual Development Plan (ADP) is the third in a series of successive one year medium term plans which will implement the Kisii County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2013-2017.The programmes to be implemented in this plan are geared towards the realization of the Kenya Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals. For the County to realize its vision of prosperity for all, it needs to adopt growth strategy based Programmes that generate rapid employment and provide more income-generating opportunities to its residents. To achieve the expected economic growth and create impact, a set of five County Strategic Priorities have been identified; namely: i. Infrastructure Development; ii. Health Care; iii. Water Reticulation and Environment Preservation; iv. Social Protection v. Economic Development The identified programmes in every strategic priority are not only County specific but are also in harmony with other development policies like the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, the Kenya Vision 2030, the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and the Sustainable Development Goals’. Mainstreaming of vulnerable groups in the development process has been taken into consideration in this plan. Some of the groups covered in this plan are: women, youth, the aged, the physically challenged, orphans and the poverty stricken in the society.en_US
