other conditions and benefits of employment under General Notice No. 841, published in the Official Gazette of the
14th April, 1953. The main issues of concern were as follows: To address the existing terms and conditions of employment so as to provide African workers with greater incentives to
industry, efficiency and increased output; To present a method of calculating the statutory minimum wage in urban areas and to assess whether all or any of the findings of the Committee should be extended to areas outside municipalities and towns. | en |
