dc.description.abstract | Makadara Hall was built by the District Commissioner, Nairobi, in order to provide a suitable venue, outside the City, for large public meetings. It was built on its present site because it was not considered desirable at that time to encourage large crowds of people to gather in the centre of the City for the purpose of holding public meetings or processions. In consideration of the unwarranted expenditure the Government was incurring in maintaining this Hall, and the fact that the building is not being used for any useful purpose at the moment, the Cabinet agreed that it may be handed over to K.A.N.U. | en |
