dc.description.abstract | From the early years of the Colony and up to the middle of 1940 immigration into Kenya was controlled by the Immigration Restriction Ordinance, enacted on 5th August, 1906. The Government believes that the time has now come to examine the operation of the Ordinance and ancillary regulations, in order to gauge the extent to which they have achieved their purpose, to consider whether any restatement of immigration policy is necessary in view of changes in circumstances since 1948, and to discover what substantive or procedural amendments to the existing law will be required in order that any changes in immigration policy may be effectively put into operation. | en |
