The CBROP 2021 has been prepared against a backdrop of a slowdown in the Kenyan economy in 2020/2021, and expected global recovery after a slump in 2020 as a result of adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The global economy is anticipated to expand by 6.0 percent in 2021 from a contraction of 3.2 percent in 2020. The Kenyan economy is also projected to rebound to 6.6 percent in FY 2021/2022 and stabilize above 6.0 percent over the medium term. This recovery will be reinforced by the prevailing macroeconomic environment, the ongoing implementation of the strategic priorities under the ‘Big Four’ Agenda and Economic Recovery Strategy, and the expected favorable weather conditions to support agricultural outputen
