Abstract/ Overview
The 2021 County Budget Review and Outlook Paper (CBROP) is prepared pursuant to Section 118 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2012. It reviews the fiscal performance for the Financial Year 2020/2021 besides providing information on local, national and global economic developments as well as financial forecasts in the medium term. The outbreak of CoVID-19 devastated global economies disrupting businesses and livelihoods. However, global growth in 2021 is projected at 6.0% from a contraction of 3.2% in 2020. The Sub-Saharan African region is estimated to have contracted by 2.6% in 2020 from a growth of 3.2% in 2019. On the domestic scene, the economic growth is expected to rebound to 6.2% in FY 2021/2022 and remain above 6.0% over the medium term. The County Government will continue to implement key strategic programmes to reinforce economic growth in 2021.
