Uasin Gishu County Budget Review and Outlook Paper 2022

Abstract

The 2021 County Budget Review and Outlook Paper (CBROP) has been prepared pursuant to section 118 of the PFM Act, 2012. CBROP sets out the county’s fiscal performance review of the previous financial year (2021/2022), and how the performance impacts on the financial objectives and fiscal responsibility principles articulated in the County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) 2021. The Kenyan economy demonstrated remarkable resilience and recovery to the Covid-19 shock due to the diversified nature of the economy and the proactive measures by the Government to support businesses. The economy expanded by 7.5 percent in 2021, a much stronger level from a contraction of 0.3 percent in 2020. This economic recovery was mainly supported by the recovery in the service and industry sectors despite the subdued performance in the agricultural sector.
