Abstract/ Overview
The District Departmental Heads, under the coordination of the District Commissioner and with the assistance of the District Planning Unit, prepared a District Development Plan that was discussed and approved by the District Executive Committee and the District Development Committee. The Rural Planning Department of the Office of the Vice President and Ministry of Planning and National Development provided overall guidance and edited and published the plan. The plan is divided into five chapters that provide information on the district's natural and human resources, social and economic levels, development constraints, HIV/AIDS situation, and major projects and programs prioritized by the DDC. The drafting of the plan was guided by the Sessional Paper No. 1 of 1986 and other relevant national and sectoral policy documents.
