The Policy Brief on Improving Dietary Diversity and Child Nutrition among Small-holder Irrigation Farmers by the National Irrigation Programme Focus for Nutrition (NIFPN) outlines the challenges facing small-holder irrigation farmers in achieving adequate dietary diversity and optimal nutrition for their children. The publication identifies the key determinants of dietary diversity and child nutrition among small-holder irrigation farmers, including poverty, limited access to education and healthcare services, and inadequate knowledge of good nutrition practices. The policy brief recommends targeted interventions to improve dietary diversity and nutrition, including education and awareness campaigns, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, and social protection programs. The policy brief concludes by emphasizing the need for a multi-sectoral approach to address the underlying determinants of malnutrition among small-holder irrigation farmers.en
