dc.description.abstract | The 2023-27 County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) is the third generation long term plan since the onset of Devolution following the enactment of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 which led to creation of County Governments. This CIDP coincides with the new regime of government that came into power following the general elections of August 2022. The theme of the plan is ‘A resilient economy for sustainable development’ and aims to support the development of a resilient community that can withstand shocks and grow its economy.
The plan takes cognizance of national long term development plans and international commitments by the Country and will contribute towards achievement of these plans and commitments. These are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Africa’s Agenda 2063, Paris Agreement on Climate Change, 2015, East Africa Community Vision 2050, International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) 25 Kenya Commitments, Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, the Kenya Vision 2030 and The Makueni Vision 2025.
The CIDP will be implemented through eight sectors: Water, Sanitation, Environment and Natural Resources; Agriculture and Rural Development; Transport, Infrastructure, Energy and ICT; Health Services; Social Protection, Education and Recreation; General Economic and Commercial Affairs; Lands and Urban Development; and Devolution. | en |
