Abstract/ Overview
This policy succeeds Sessional Paper Number 3 of 2012 on Population Policy for National Development. It responds to new and emerging population and development issues that affect Kenya's efforts of achieving its National and International development agenda, while taking into account the achievements of the past policy initiatives. This policy seeks to align priority actions to the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, Vision 2030 and ICPD25 Kenya Country Commitments. This Policy takes into account the international and regional conventions, agreements and declarations to which Kenya is a signatory. Further, this policy recognizes the developments in the country's economy, Human Capital, Human Development Index (HDI), labour force participation and poverty eradication as key to population and development.
