Abstract/ Overview
This CFSP is prepared in accordance with provisions of Section 117 of the PFMA 2012. The County Fiscal Strategy Paper 2020 outlines the economic policies and sector priority programs to be implemented in the next MTEF period (2020/21- 2022/23) whose priorities are derived from the Kirinyaga residents and as anchored in the County Integrated Development Plan, The ‘Mountain Cities Blueprint and also taking into account the National Government’s economic policy under the ‘Big Four’ agenda of Vision 2030. The county’s economy has benefitted from investments in infrastructure developments which is a key supporter of the vibrant agricultural economy in the County. To ensure there is ease of doing business in the county, major investments have been made to improve market conditions by rehabilitating strategic markets to modern standards. Areas in and around the markets have been rehabilitated by construction of new and clean pavements, rapid collection of waste to give a clean habitable business premises. Those strategic markets have also been provided with street lighting to increase business hours. Rehabilitation of roads have also taken center stage with key roads being upgraded, bridges to key agricultural areas rehabilitated and overall mobility improved around the county. Key investments have also been made in other major sectors like health to guarantee an uninterrupted provision of health services across the county.
