    Abstract/Overview

This Sessional Paper is intended to complement and build on Sessional Paper No.1 of 1986, on Economic Management for Renewed Growth. It provides a reaffirmation of our medium to long term strategy to maintain measures for socio-economic stability which will lead to sustained development. It is only through sustainable economic growth that the national wealth can be created to support measures to alleviate poverty, protect vulnerable groups and provide rising standards of living for our people. The Paper makes cross reference to recent and forthcoming papers on environment, agriculture, forestry, employment and tourism. The Paper also takes into consideration the Policy Framework Paper, which was discussed with the donor community in November 1993.
