Abstract/ Overview
The Government of Kenya has developed Standard Guidelines to operationalize the National Pre-Primary Education Policy (2017) in collaboration with County Governments and other stakeholders. The National Pre-primary Education Policy Standard Guidelines provide specific standards on access, equity, quality, governance, research, monitoring, evaluation, financing and partnerships, and are aligned with the National Policy Framework for Reforming Education and Training in Kenya (2012) and the Basic Education Act, 2013. The implementation of these guidelines is crucial for providing quality, equitable and inclusive pre-primary education services that enhance preparedness for primary education, and contribute to the realization of the aspirations of the Constitution of Kenya (2010), Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The guidelines are expected to provide guidance to improve pre-primary education services throughout the country and ensure the holistic growth and development of all Kenyan children.
