dc.description.abstract | The 2021 County Budget Review and Outlook Paper (CBROP) presents a review of the county's fiscal performance amidst the negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper projects a rebound in the Kenyan economy, with growth expected to remain above 6.0 percent over the medium term. The county government's fiscal performance for FY 2020/2021 was satisfactory, with an overall absorption rate of 79.98 percent. However, challenges associated with the pandemic resulted in a drop in revenue performance. The paper emphasizes the need for fiscal discipline and expenditure rationalization to support the implementation of the county government's strategic priorities. The upcoming FY 2022/2023 will be prepared under the conditions of the 2022 General Elections, posing challenges to the budget-making processes. | en |
