| dc.description.abstract | The Busia County Approved Budget Estimates 2022/2023 present the financial plan and allocation of resources for the county in the year. The Approved budget outlines the projected revenues, planned expenditures, and priorities set by the county government. It provides a comprehensive overview of the budgetary framework, highlighting the key sectors and programs that will receive funding for the effective delivery of services and the realization of developmental goals. The FY 2022/2023 and MTEF Budget estimates has been prepared in compliance with the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Section 135 of Public Finance Management Act, 2012. It has been prepared on the basis of the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP 2018-2022), Annual Development Plan (ADP FY 2022/2023), and County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP FY 2022 /2023) and in line with the National Budget Policy Statement 2022(BPS 2022). It is prepared to address post Covid -19 recovery measures thereby borrowing heavily from County Covid – 19 Social Economic Re – Engineering Recovery Strategy for FY 2020/2021 – 2022/2023. This Strategy key pillars include boosting of private sector activities, Strengthening of ICT Capacity, Human resource development and Strengthening County governments’ response to pandemic and disaster. The strategy also recommends supporting key sectors of agriculture, health, Transports, Education and social protection among others, areas which this budget document has addressed accordingly. | en |
