dc.description.abstract | This County Integrated Development Plan has been prepared in accordance with the policies
stipulated in the Kenya Vision 2030, the Medium Term Plans and other national policy
documents. It is also aligned to the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and legislations governing
the devolved system. The county priorities in development, as stated by the stakeholders,
have also been taken into account.
The plan is organised in eight chapters. Chapter One gives the background information on
the socio-economic and infrastructural aspects that has a bearing on the development of the
county. The chapter provides a description of the county in terms of the location, size,
physiographic and natural conditions, demographic profile as well as the administrative and
political units.
Chapter Two provides the highlights of socio-economic development, challenges, crosscutting
issues and strategies in the county. The chapter also provides an analysis of the
potential strategic policy thrusts which highlight development issues, their causes,
development objectives and strategies mapped to county department functions as given in
Fourth Schedule of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.......... | en |
