dc.description.abstract | This policy document is organised into six chapters, with the first chapter providing the Policy overview, context and goal. The second chapter provides a situational analysis of climate finance, and chapter three identifies the scope for climate finance in Kenya. Chapter four sets out the strategic interventions that work toward the achievement of the Policy's goals and objectives. The fifth chapter provides an overview of the governance structures to implement the policy, and chapter six deals with financial requirements. The appendix provides a list of definitions. This National Policy on Climate Finance seeks to position Kenya to better access climate finance through a variety of mechanisms. Climate finance can help advance the Kenya Vision 2030 agenda by increasing the country's adaptive capacity and resilience to climate change while promoting low carbon sustainable development. The policy sets out how the National Treasury, other government departments and agencies, and county governments will deliver on the climate finance aspects of the Climate Change Act, 2016, and Kenya's obligations under the Paris Agreement including its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). | en |
