Kajiado County Budget Review and Outlook Paper 2020

Abstract

The Kajiado County Budget Review and Outlook Paper (CBROP 2020) is prepared at a time of unprecedented worldwide pandemic COVID 19 which has led to contraction of the global economy disrupting businesses including international trade and leading to loss of livelihoods for millions of people globally. Global economic activity is projected to contract by 4.9 percent in 2020 from a growth of 2.9 percent in 2019 with prospects across countries and regions remaining highly uncertain. The 2020 CBROP is prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012. The paper focuses on providing fiscal review for the FY year ending June 2020 and compares with the previous year (2018/19). During the period under review the County Government continued with the Programme based approach linking the financial resources directly to defined policy goals and objectives.
