Kitui County Annual Development Plan 2023/2024

Abstract

The ADP 2023-2024 was prepared when the process of compiling the Third Generation CIDP was ongoing hence picked 16 sector priorities highlighted in the Governors manifesto. These include Agriculture, Water, Health, Education, Urban Development, Roads and Construction, Trade and Investments, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Cooperative Societies, Tourism and Hospitality, Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Boda Boda, Environment, Energy, Information and Communications and Security. The County has achieved tremendous progress on implementation of various programmes. Notable progress has been made in the areas of health care, food security, water provision, trade development, skills development and infrastructure development among others. This is despite various challenges, key among them being COVID 19 pandemic which slowed down operations. To accommodate the public views in the ADP, the county prepared an advert which was placed on the main stream media and uploaded on the county website and copies placed at all county field offices (Sub county, Ward and Village Offices) and key market centers to invite views from the public. The public responded positively and their views were captured in this ADP.
