Kwale County Programme Based Budget 2023/2024

Abstract

The Kwale County Budget for financial year (FY) 2023/2024 is prepared in accordance to the provisions of Section 125 of the Public Finance Management Act 2012 and the requirements of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.This is the first budget which will implement the third Generation County Integrated Development Plan 2023-2027 and the County Sectoral Plan 2023-2032. It is prepared under unclear circumstances on the Division of Revenue Bill which has a standoff between the Senate and the National Assembly. In the preparation of the County Budget for FY 2023/2024, the Kwale County Treasury took into consideration the following:- (i)Strategic priorities and financial objectives mentioned in the Approved Annual Development Plan FY 2023/2024 and the County Fiscal Strategy Paper 2023;(ii)Proposals made by the Kwale Citizens during public participation fora held on 17th -20 thApril 2023 by the County Treasury across all the wards in the county.
