dc.description.abstractThe County Integrated Development Plan II (CIDP) is a five-year development plan that details goals, programmes and projects that will guide planning and budgeting process of the County in the 2013-2017 period. It has been developed in pursuant to Section 108 of the County Government Act 2012 that requires County planners to prepare a five-year County integrated development plans that address key County development needs. It further states in section 104(2) that the County planning framework shall integrate economic, physical, social, environmental and spatial planning. The Plan is divided into six chapters. Chapter one provides the background information about the County in terms of its location, administrative set-up, climate, settlement patterns and the major geographical features, which play a leading role in the development of the County. To facilitate the development of focused strategies, the chapter also gives a detailed fact sheet about the County. This is important since it gives in a glance the County’s socio-economic profile.en_US
