Abstract/ Overview
The Public Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Sector comprises of three subsectors namely; Public Service and Administration, Office of the Governor and County Public Service Board. The Sector provides overall policy, leadership and oversight in economic management, public service delivery and implementation of policies. It further coordinates, organizes and provides excellent human resource and administrative services in the county and beyond. The Plan details transformative programmes that will enable the County have a robust public service that is efficient and effective to support the Kenya Vision 2030 Pillars, the SDGs and Africa Agenda 2063 This plan is built on achievements and lessons learnt during the implementation of the first and second CIDPs. There were significant achievements during the last plan period despite of the various challenges experienced. One of the challenges that hindered effective performance of the sector includes inadequate funding of the sector which negatively impacted on the sector’s ability to meet development needs. The sector proposes for adequate funding and timely disbursement of funds from the National Treasury as it would enable the Sector to effectively achieve its mandate.
